Screenshot Detox is built to be private by design. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your data. It is intentionally short, because the app is intentionally simple.
The short version: Screenshot Detox does not collect any data. Nothing you put into the app ever leaves your device. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no tracking.
What stays on your device
- The screenshots you import are stored only in the app's local storage on your device.
- The text extracted from them is recognized on-device using Apple's Vision framework. It is never uploaded anywhere.
- The category suggestions are produced on-device — by Apple's on-device intelligence where available, or a simple local algorithm — and stored only on your device.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
- We do not use analytics or any third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not require an account, and there is no login.
- We operate no servers and have no backend that your data could be sent to.
Device permissions
The app asks for permission only when a feature you use needs it, and only on your device:
- Photos — read-only access, so you can import screenshots. The app never modifies or deletes your original photos.
- Calendars & Reminders — only used when you choose to send an event or task from a screenshot to your own Calendar and Reminders apps on your device.
You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in your device Settings (iOS or macOS).
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects no data, we don't anticipate material changes.
